The BSSD Student Broadcasting Team will be working in the field to provide as much coverage of the 2009 Iditarod as possible. This is a multi-village student project, and so everything you see is result of many students working together. Use this forum to offer comments, suggestions, requests, and feedback. Hey---This is Mia. Today was really busy, and our first day just going out to places and doing lots of interviews. There were two teams. My team [Gerald and I]went to Martin Buser's Open House, and got a chance to see and interview him, Rohn, Sue Allen, his dog handlers, and a couple other people. The other team went to the Millenium and got shots of the dog handlers getting trained. Doing the interviews was fun, and everyone was really nice. Tomorrow's the start of the race....we have to get up really early and get out there. Okay, I'm going now. Talk to everyone tomorrow!

Yesterday was the start of the Iditarod. We had to be at the Whale's Tail at 7:30 yesterday morning, and went out to 4th Avenue around 8. After a couple hours of pre-race interviews[which will be up when we're done editing], our two teams met up again and the starting line. Asa and Flashman filmed all the mushers starting, and Gerald and I went to Campbell Air Strip and did some interviews with Rick Holt and his grandmother, who was his Iditarider. We also got video of several mushers coming in with their Iditariders. After that, everyone met up at the Captain Cook, and we imported all the video.
