Anchorage, Alaska – At approximately 9:46 a.m. today, Bog, a two-year-old male from the race
team of Isaac Teaford (bib#15), collapsed approximately 200 feet from the Nulato checkpoint.
Iditarod checkers and one Iditarod Veterinarian approached the team and CPR was
administered for 20 minutes, but Bog unfortunately did not survive.
A necropsy will be conducted by a board-certified pathologist to make every attempt to
determine the cause of death.

One of Dallas' puppies. Regardless what you think of Dallas, he has had an extremely bad year.

Damn!!! Was hoping this year we would be clear and all rookies would make it to nome.

Anchorage, Alaska – At approximately 10:00 a.m. today, George, a four-year-old male from the
race team of Hunter Keefe (bib# 10), collapsed on the trail roughly 35 outside of Kaltag en route
to Unalakleet. Attempts to revive George were unsuccessful.
A necropsy will be conducted by a board-certified pathologist to make every attempt to
determine the cause of death.

So sad. After so many good years too.
I hope the necropsies tell what happened to these dogs, and it's something that can be prevented happening in other dogs.

And a third dog on Calvin Daugherty's team.
