This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

maybe the thinking is, Martin is with them, let them have another go if not they will surely scratch anyway. we are on 12 days 9 hours so still within the 14 day range...just for a finish.

..as posted somewhere else, the easiest way to get 11 teams from Elim to Nome is by mushing the teams. But I am really glad Martin is in the group (and other veterans), not just rookies.
I hope they are able to fix the trail prior to Safety

The Elim 11 were on the ice for a short while and now are running on land, good. I was worried about that ice anyway.
