This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. I am not sure they will drop down to Golovin but find a way through the hills and on land all the way. There is no really obvious route and I haven't been able to find any map over the old mail route.
But Nicolas wanted to wait but didn't, that suggest they should pass him..

They appear to be following the old Iditarod trail. I've tried to see where it goes and seems to just peter out.

...and the first group are back on original trail. pretty much exactly what elsie draw yesterday. It also looks like they are waiting for all the teams (the green track is Martins and include yesterdays attempt as well):
