We drew number 55. I wanted to go out late so it works out good. The banquet was really short this year. All over by 8pm. Mushers weren't allowed to talk on stage, only to say their number. The first banquet I've been at where at the end everyone stayed to hang out and chat.

Have a great race Hugh and thanks for the 'banquet report'! We were all wishing it had been streamed live, but if the mushers didn't speak I guess we really didn't miss anything - other than the sounds of people eating!

Thanks for joining us so close to the race. We'll 'see' you when you get back! :D

I just received an email from Hugh telling me he and the dogs are well and to feel free to open the thread back up to questions.

Hugh, it was good to hear from you and I'm so glad you and the dogs made it to Nome. :)

And thanks to wonderful, sweet Tamra for hanging with us while we were all worrying over you and your team.

Hugh- Congrats on your finish!! Special thanks to Tamra for being on the BSSD chat and keeping us posted on you. I think you made the right decison for you and your dogs to go back to shelter. I respect you for thinking of your dogs and their safety.
What do you do in the off season and how many dogs do you own or care for?

Cindy, Libby and Hank

I'm so glad you are in Nome.
How is the frost bite? Have you ever run in weather this bad before?
Thanks, Tamara for your input.

huge congrats Hugh to be where you are tonight. Tell us the stories when you can . Tamra has been your voice to the outside world, and now it is time for you 2 to have a private re-connect. i hope you stay for the banquet. so many hard times this year, we need to hear < how bad was it for you> in the first person.

YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HUGH ! finished and done! YOU ROCK! Got thru that miserable piece of work and came out the other side but you were not unscathed.
